Keycards

For those members who have met the requirements I will be at the
Northcutt building on Monday the 10th from about 1 pm until 2pm to train
on the alarm and get you cards to you. Please remember there is a $25
one time fee due at the time the card is issued.

Right now I am planning to be at the building from 6:30pm until about
7:15. If this changes I will post here. We need to get this done before
the run thru as it’s hard to demonstrate the alarm with the activity.

I plan to try one or two more times to do this but haven’t yet nailed
the dates down.

The individual makes a quality contribution to the success of most events sponsored by the club, and is eager to help both the beginner person and the more experienced dog handler. The person receiving the most nominations will be announced by the previous year’s winner at the Annual Awards Banquet. Past winners may not be nominated. Your nomination must contain a brief paragraph explaining what the nominee has done to deserve the award.  Send nominations to Pam Murn myeltneb@aol.com  The deadline for nominations is January second.

New Agility Course Set!

Hi All
There is a new agility course set and a course map on the table. There are 3 different courses numbered on the map with lots of challenges.
There are lots of options for other skills training or courses. Enjoy!
Please remember if you move something put it back. I don’t think it will be necessary.
A big Thanks to Vicki Head for making the courses that we use!

Jingle Star Fling – Dec 1st at 2pm

Jingle Star Fling

DEC 1st 2018 2pm until ??

All Gems & Stars Freestyle Dancers invite their friends and family members to watch us dancing with our dogs.  All Gem City Dog Obedience Club members and families are invited to attend our event as well. Our annual Jingle Star Fling event on Saturday 12/1/18 at 2pm until all performances are completed.  Located at the Gem City Dog Obedience Club building address 4920 Northcutt Drive location.

This is a just for fun event where all of the Gems & Stars Freestyle folks perform their favorite music for all of their friends and family.  This is not a formal competition it is day just to have fun with our furry partners and show off the skills we have learned through the year. Some performers may be doing their very first performance and some performers may have done Freestyle for several years.  It is a day to bring out the old dogs who still like to dance, the dogs currently competing in Freestyle, and the new puppies who get to do this for the first time in their young lives.

There will be plenty of snacks and goodies to enjoy during your time with us.  Please do not bring your own dogs. If you are later than 2pm, please make sure no one is performing before walking in the front door.  Most routines are about 2 minutes long so you will be able to come in the door soon. We look forward to performing for you and hope you enjoy our performances.

Happy Holidays to Everyone!

Holiday Gift Giving!

Hello Everybody! The Holidays are here and Mary Beam and I are once again collecting donations to buy gifts for the Eastway Boys! For new members – The business to the left of the Club is a residential treatment center for boys “.. a safe, healing environment for elementary school-aged boys who are victims of trauma.”

You can learn more about the facility on their website –

Mary and I started this campaign when Gem City moved to the Northcutt facility and with the generous donations of our members we have helped make Christmas brighter for the boys who live in the facility each and every year since.

This year instead of getting a list from each boy, I have asked Eastway to supply us with the first name and age of each boy and we will make bags up for them. This should make shopping a little easier and we can look for bargains.

If you would like to help us bring Christmas joy to these boys (some who have NEVER received a Christmas gift!!)  – you can donate a number of ways – you can send a check or money order (made out to GCDOC) to me at :

Jennifer Looper

2810 Wayne Ave.

Dayton, OH 45420

or send to Kathy Roberts:

Kathy Roberts
85 Logic Court
Beavercreek, OH  45440
(make sure and write Eastway Boys on the check)You can also give cash or checks directly to Mary Beam or I when we are at trials and/or functions.

I will keep you updated on how many boys we are shopping for etc. as soon as I get that information.

Thanks Again!
Jennifer Looper & Chase, Kip and Hope
