Tons of things to do!!

Have you looked at our volunteer area lately? There are lots and lots of fun things to do! Everything from walking in a parade for volunteer hours with your dog to helping at interesting trials!

The UKC conformation and rally trial needs your help. Are you one to think ahead? November is right around the corner, and there are lots of opportunities awaiting you! When we rent our building, we often rent our volunteers, as well! Helping at these trials DOES count for volunteer hours for our club!

Stop worrying about your 2020 volunteer hours by getting a jump start on them NOW!

Freestyle Volunteers Needed!

Our December Freestyle Trial is right around the corner, and while we need fantastic volunteers, we also need one special someone…

ARE YOU that special someone? We need someone to coordinate the raffle baskets for the December Freestyle trial. Our trials are well known for their fantastic baskets and the money they raise. We don’t need you to reinvent anything, we just need you to coordinate what we already do! Others who have done it in the past will be happy to give guidance! The coordinator will be going to pick up donations from people. Also you may be contacting local businesses to see about donating baskets. Putting the baskets together and setting them on the table display at the trial is also part of the job.

Just go to the Freestyle Trial Volunteer sheet and sign up today!

Volunteer hours will be granted for the work as coordinator. We estimate around 10 hours will be needed, spread out over the next couple months.

Santa day Fun- more info

Thank you to Cheri Davis for signing up to be our Fun Day Coordinator! Now we need some support staff! Are you available Nov 23 to sell raffle tickets? Are you a super awesome baker and want to donate to the bake sale? Maybe you are best at doing a Freestyle or trick routine?

There are plenty of things to sign up for on volunteer sheet on the website!

Dayton Children’s Parade

Sign up for these Volunteer Hours!

Greetings Gem City Dog Obedience Club,
Join Gem City members and their dogs participating in the 2019 Dayton
Children’s Parade Friday November 29th meeting around 6:30 PM. Bring your
friends and their dogs. Marching in the parade is fun, and a great
socialization experience for your dog. Bring treats to help him/her behave
in a distracting environment.
Unfortunately the parade environment might not be right for all dogs.
Although the will put floats between the dogs and the marching bands, the
parade is still a noisy place with loud music and bright (sometimes
flashing) holiday lights. Dogs afraid of this type of environment should be
left home.
Dress yourself and your dog in holiday attire/bling and lights.
More details will be available closer to the Parade date.

Santa Day Fun!

Gem City is planning a Photos With Santa day on November 23rd. We have Santa booked for the day, we have lots of great ideas, but we need YOU!

We need someone to step forward and be the point of contact for the Santa Day Fun. We have board members willing to help and support you, but our board members all stretched thin, and none of us think that we will be able to be the point person on such an exciting day.
