In conjunction with the annual Zoom Meeting of the Gem City Dog Obedience Club Inc to be held on November 6, 2020, 7:30 pm, the election of the Board of Directors and Officers for Gem City Dog Obedience Club, Inc. to serve from 11/6/2020-11/5/2021 will take place this year using Election Buddy. Please vote for your selection no later than 11:45 pm on 11/6/2020. If you have any question, please send a message to the administrator. Results of the election will be available at the close of voting. Thank you for your cooperation with this change in procedures.

Please keep your eyes open for an email directly from the Election Buddy system to enable you to vote. You MUST click on the link in the election buddy email to vote this year!

We will be holding a VIRTUAL Membership Meeting on Friday November 6^th, 2020 at 7:30pm. The new GCDOC board members and directors will also be elected at this meeting. The slate of candidates is listed below. We will also be voting on 3 lifetime members: Nancy Beeman, Leah Schiller and Risa Wright.

Board Election Nominations: President-Angela Profitt, Vice President-Diana Stromley, Secretary-Danna Jennings, Treasurer-Kathy Roberts, Members at large-Carol Coffey, Alisha Heidorn and Barb Siler, Membership-Tami Woodrow, Agility Director-Sherri Heizer, Register-Maggie Milton. Obedience Director and Conformation Director are still open.

Also remember dues are due and payable as of 10/31/2020. After that your membership will be considered lapsed and you may no longer take reduced price classes or vote at the membership meetings.

We could use 3-4 helpers for the FAST CAT event at K9Splash Zone in Brookville OH this weekend.
We need helpers from 7:30 am-12 and from 12-3 or 4 ish.  Jobs will include checking in dogs before they run, managing ribbons and providing other support during the event.

Also, in light of the funeral for Nancy Beeman, the freestyle set-up on Friday has been moved to 12 noon. Please feel free to show up after the grave side services.

There are just a few very special spots available for helping out at the INDOOR Freestyle trial Oct 30 – Nov 1. We have set up hours on Friday the 30th from 11am – 5pm, and just a spot or two on the weekend from 8:30am till around 2:30pm.

Yes, we are aware that the website has been having some difficulties. Unfortunately, the solution involves a fairly major change, and we have been trying to limp the website along as it currently is rather than cause mass confusion by completely changing the login and profile pages.

If you try to log in to the website and reach an “Invalid Nonce” white page after your log in, simply email webadmin@gcdoc.com
our staff will be happy to reset the website again and reply letting you know that it’s been done.

Once you are logged in to the website, please click on the button that says “Profile/Password change” on the members page, or select it from the menu drop down. Your volunteer hours, what you owe, what you paid, and how you paid it will all be available from your profile page. Once you know what you owe, you can pay your dues from that members page by clicking the button that says “2021 Dues payment and Waiver”.

Dues need to be paid no later than October 31st.

Just a quick reminder, please check the calendar before you drive over to the building during non-class times. Occasionally we have parts of it reserved for pre-trial practice.

October 27th and 29th the front room will be used from 5-6:30pm both days for Freestyle practice. There will be music playing loudly for this practice. Please anticipate this prior to your arrival!

Some of you reported that your volunteer hours total wasn’t showing in your profile. We now believe that we have fixed that problem.

Please note! Some of you have paid your dues, but we have not yet begun recording that in your profile. Please hold on to your email receipt for your paypal payments, and stay tuned for further updates to the website. Those records need to be updated by hand, and those will likely happen about once a week or every 10 days as time permits.

Re: Your 2021 Dues. End of year for your Volunteer hours is 9/30/20. Dues are Payable as of 10/31/20.

How to know the hours you worked: The total hours you have worked this past year and the dues amount will be on your profile page after you log into the GCDOC.com website. To try to save GCDOC funds because of reduced class numbers and reduced number of events being held I am not going to do a mass invoice mailing for the dues. If you wish to have an itemized hours count please email me at tbrown2126@aol.com.

To access your profile in the member’s area: Press the Profile/Password button the left side as you scroll down the page. This will bring up your profile page. Scroll down the screen and the hours and dues amount will appear in boxes below.

PayPal payment will be available in the member’s area to pay your dues. If you are not paying by PayPal please send your dues payable to GCDOC to Tami Woodrow, 4921 Pacemont Ave, Dayton, Oh 45415. If you need a copy of the waiver please email me and I will send one to you.

Please remember to sign your waiver on the Member’s site or mail a hard copy to me along with your dues. If you e-sign the waiver online DO NOT mail me the hard copy. E-signing HAPPENS AUTOMATICALLY with the paypal payment!
