Building Closures

The building will be closed to training on Wednesday, June 22 from 7:30 am – 1:00 for the repair of the alarm system. This requires setting off the alarm multiple times.

The building will also be closed to training on Friday, June 24 from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm for a fire inspection. Again, loud testing is possible during this time.

There are to be no dogs in the building during these times!

Thank you

Volunteers needed for FAST CAT – 6/24 – 6/26

We could use a few helpers with the FAST CAT tests at K9 Splash Zone on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the weekend 06/24, 06/25, 06/26.  Hours are 09-12 and 12- around 4.  We need people to help release dogs (not for the faint of heart), check in dogs (for the most part a sit down job) and help in the catch pen.  Need to stay focused and be able to communicate with exhibitors.   If you are running, we can move your time to a worker slot and if you wish, you can run your dog first thing in the am.  Or, if you want to wait you can run in your slot.  This is a really fun event!!!

Volunteers Needed – July 29-31, 2022

Hi, friends!
Happy summer time! As we’ve grown to look forward to, our musical freestyle show is happening this summer! We’re finally to a point where it’s ideally safe enough to have spectators again, so we’d love to see you all! We’d also love even more if you could swing by and help us out by volunteering! We need: a timer (best role if you want an uninhibited view of the show!), a gate steward, some leash runners, and a floating helper! Descriptions of each role can be found on the link below, but you’re also welcome to reach out to Ashley with any questions. We could also use some help with set up on the Friday before! Our dates are: Friday, July 29 for set up, then July 30 and 31 for the actual show! We would love to see you there!

PLEASE NOTE: We really need you to sign up on the website to help keep track of things! Unless it’s the Friday set up, please avoid just showing up and expecting a certain role. We’re still happy to give you something to do, but please try to give us a warning that you’re coming, especially if you have specific role needs!

Volunteer workers needed for the AKC Obedience and Rally Trials on June 18th and 19th

Please consider stewarding in the Obedience Ring and the Rally Ring. Currently there is one Obedience Ring Steward signed up for the weekend and 2 Rally Stewards for some of the time slots. We cannot continue to hold these trials if we cannot get member participation.

Please volunteer to work at these trials or for setup or tear down after the trials on Sunday!

Setup on Friday at 6pm. This usually takes about an hour and a half.

Work the rings on Saturday and Sunday – 4 workers required in the obedience ring and 5 workers required in the rally ring. You can work all day or select a morning or afternoon shift.

Teardown will be Sunday after the trials.

This is a great opportunity for applicant members to get their required 10 hours to become a member.

If you haven’t stewarded in the rings before, don’t worry we will train you!!

The Volunteer sign-up sheet is located on the members’ page. Log into GCDOC.com, go to the members’ page, scroll down to the bottom and the volunteer sheet link will be on the left-hand side of the screen.

Co-Chief ring stewards are Deb Werts and Peg Lange
