Our club has a musical freestyle show scheduled for Halloween weekend! Volunteer hours can be earned by signing up HERE.
Freestyle is a really interesting, fun sport, and one of the most fun things about it are the awards!
If you’d like to donate any awards, or even various items for the raffle, please contact Ashley Huehn at [email protected].
Examples of awards could be Highest Scoring Mixed Breed, Highest Scoring Rescue Dog, Cutest Dog, Happiest Dog, Most Supportive Handler, etc. If you’d like to donate an award, but not sure what, you can also contact Ashley and brainstorm some ideas!
Thanks, and looking forward to a lovely show!
CCC will be holding a UKC Rally Trial in conjunction with our annual Conformation Show on November 13th and 14th, 2021. Below is a link to the event page on UKCDogs.com. You can also download a Performance entry form from that event page.
Please notice the Secretary change for this event:

If you would like to volunteer to help, Please contact Carol Poole at [email protected]. Any hours worked will be applied to your Gem City membership!
Great volunteer opportunities are still available for the Freestyle trial on Halloween weekend. Some jobs include sitting all day, while others include plenty of steps for your fitness tracker!
Gem City has been invited to participate in the DAYTON CHILDREN’S PARADE
SPECTACULAR IN LIGHTS on Friday, November 26, 2021. The parade takes place
after the grand illumination (Christmas tree lights up). Dress festively,
dress yourself and your dog in lights. Bring family members and as many
dogs as you like. We will also need 2 people to carry the Gem City banner.
About a week before the parade, an email will be sent letting you know the
meeting location in downtown Dayton, the meeting time and some dos and
don’ts. The time is likely to be around 6:30 PM. The parade route is about
a half mile (an easy walk). You will receive hours for participating (about
2 hours per dog handler team, allowing for your time spent parking and
walking to the start, then waiting for the parade to start). Click HERE to sign up on
line to give us an idea of how many participants to expect. It’s always a
fun time. The children love to see our dogs.
Thanks

Marcia Bashor has offered the club some equipment, x-pens, and other dog related items to keep and/or offer to members to earn a little money for the club. What we need is a couple of people with larger vehicles to go collect the items and deliver them to a temporary storage location. I am thinking we could possibly put them in one of the buildings at the land until we can sort them out. She asked me to come on Saturday but I can’t go that day. Please contact Angela at [email protected] to volunteer.
You WILL get hours for helping!
