Due to the parking lot sealing and some schedule conflicts we are going to reschedule the obedience committee meeting for Thursday August 3rd at 7pm.

Building Closed – Parking lot work July 18, 2023
All
I just got confirmation that this Tuesday. July 18th, the Northcut building needs to be closed while the contractor seals the new parking lot which was paved last summer. We will not be able to park on the new seal coat until Friday July 21st. I will post signs for our neighbors to have their cars moved and will tape off the entrance.
The building can be used on Wednesday and Thursday, but people need to park in the street and walk up .

Volunteers Needed!
We are still looking for some volunteers to help with the Crossroads UKC Conformation Shows and Rally Trials this weekend!
You may be asking yourself why we are looking for volunteers for another club’s event. When Crossroads rents our building, they also rent our members! You will get hours towards your required Gem City hours for membership!
Why should you help? Firstly, it’s fun! You get to see all types of beautiful and uncommon breeds! Did you know that we had a Bedlington Terrier at our November shows? Such a cool breed to see in person! Secondly, this is a big show! Having these big shows helps Crossroads be able to hold the smaller shows that you enjoy!
Do you need to know anything about conformation? Nope! The judges will give you instructions on exactly what they need you to do. Or you can be in charge of helping us set up lunch or other duties around the building that day.

Freestyle Volunteer Fun July 21-23!
Great volunteer opportunities are still available for the Freestyle trial July 21, 22, 23 weekend. Some jobs include sitting all day, while others include plenty of steps for your fitness tracker!
If you plan ahead, our October sign up is there, too!
Ashley Huehn Pot Luck Remembrance Night – July 8th, 3-6pm!

The Huehn family, Jessa Kenworthy and Brittany Clark are putting together a gathering in remembrance of Ashley Huehn at the Land belonging to Gem City Dog Obedience Club. This is a low-key open house style event (that is invite only) for all Gem City members to remember our dearly departed friend, as the Huehn family will provide a life reflection event at a later time.
It is pot luck, as well as bring your own chair.
Should you feel appropriate, please write letters to Ashley, which will be burned at a later time.
So bring your chairs, yourselves, your dogs if you like, and join us for a time of fellowship while remembering and honoring a person who shaped so many of us.
