Hello all,
We would like to invite you to join us in a presentation at the next members meeting. Please feel free to bring a snack or finger foods to share with the group.
Have you considered what will happen to your dogs and other pets when you die? What if you are hospitalized or enter a nursing home or rehab facility? What if you become ill or forgetful and can’t care for your pets? These are serious concerns since our pets depend on us for all of their needs and care.
Pet Planning is the process of planning and preparing in advance to provide for and protect your animals in the event of your future death, illness, or inability to care for them without assistance. Pet Planning usually involves adding pet-specific terms to routine estate planning documents like wills, powers of attorney, and family trusts. It sometimes includes more specialized documents, such as a Pet Power of Attorney or a Pet Trust. Pet Plans can range from very simple to extremely complex. There are Pet Planning options available to fit every family, circumstances, pet, and budget.
To learn more about Pet Planning, please join GCDOC and Laura J. Martin, Esq., on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 5:30. We will cover the range of planning options available, critical terms to include for the protection of your pet, and more. Questions are welcome and encouraged.
Hope to see you all there.

Riding Mower for ‘sale’
The club has a John Deere riding mower which was originally purchased about 20(?) years ago and used at the Land. It has been deemed surplus as it has not been running nor needed for some time. The board decided that the money required to repair it would be better put towards other projects. No, I don’t know what is wrong with it. Therefore the small JD riding mower is to be disposed of AS IS to a club member who might be interested and willing to make a donation. It must be removed by Memorial day, 2024. We have had two people express interest so far.
I need to hear from you if interested, no later than Wednesday, May 15th.
Please contact John Clifford if interested at this email ( [email protected] ).
Land Email
Message from the president:
Hello folks. I am trying to get to the bottom to the email about the land being closed during certain times.
In the future, if you come across something like this, please email the board and me so we can appropriately approach a solution. While we realize having it posted yourself is the easiest way, it’s not the right way.
Board email: [email protected]
The entire board will receive your email.
My email: [email protected]
I will receive this so I can present it to the board.
Once I find out more, I will attempt to answer your questions.
Thank you!
Angela
Reminder -Trials
Just our yearly friendly reminder that when trials are happening at either location, the ENTIRE location is closed for the duration of the trial. Most venues stipulate that no non-competitive animals are allowed at the location, and we wouldn’t want to get a fine or have our ability to hold trials with that venue revoked!
Please check the website calendar for trials before assuming the building or the land are available to you, and please keep in mind that trial workers often set up 12-24 hours in advance of the trail, and once set up has started, it is considered off limits!
