Volunteers Needed – Nov 5-7th

We could use more help with the FAST CAT on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11-5, 6, 7 from 7:30 am-3:30 pm…AM Shift is 7:30-11:30 and Afternoon is 11:30-3:30.  This is a very fun sport.  Most of the the jobs are outside.  Check in and score table help will give you a chance to have a blanket.

We need help with all areas in particular on Sunday, I need someone to handle check in.  The event is noted as full, so the club will make a nice profit on it to support our building and other efforts.  Since the forecast is cold this weekend, I would like to have enough people to enable folks “warm up” breaks.
Please sign up to help if you can.

Freestyle Help/Donations needed!

Our club has a musical freestyle show scheduled for Halloween weekend! Volunteer hours can be earned by signing up HERE.

Freestyle is a really interesting, fun sport, and one of the most fun things about it are the awards!
If you’d like to donate any awards, or even various items for the raffle, please contact Ashley Huehn at huehn.erica@aol.com.

Examples of awards could be Highest Scoring Mixed Breed, Highest Scoring Rescue Dog, Cutest Dog, Happiest Dog, Most Supportive Handler, etc. If you’d like to donate an award, but not sure what, you can also contact Ashley and brainstorm some ideas!

Thanks, and looking forward to a lovely show!

Dayton Children’s Parade!

Gem City has been invited to participate in the DAYTON CHILDREN’S PARADE
SPECTACULAR IN LIGHTS on Friday, November 26, 2021.  The parade takes place
after the grand illumination (Christmas tree lights up). Dress festively,
dress yourself and your dog in lights.  Bring family members and as many
dogs as you like.  We will also need 2 people to carry the Gem City banner.
About a week before the parade, an email will be sent letting you know the
meeting location in downtown Dayton, the meeting time and some dos and
don’ts.  The time is likely to be around 6:30 PM.  The parade route is about
a half mile (an easy walk).  You will receive hours for participating (about
2 hours per dog handler team, allowing for your time spent parking and
walking to the start, then waiting for the parade to start).   Click HERE to sign up on
line to give us an idea of how many participants to expect.
  It’s always a
fun time.  The children love to see our dogs.

Thanks

Obedience meeting Sept 20th

Hello all,

I would like to have an open obedience members and instructor meeting before the member meeting on the 20th. Time 6:00.

Come with positive attitudes and bring your ideas and possible suggestions.I feel there are a lot of changes that some people want and others dont. There are things people want to try and some dont. I want all your input. We have got to work as a team to make our club the best we possibly can. No fighting. Just open friendly adult conversations. Hope to see many of you there.
