The Gem City Rat Rompers, GCDOC Barn Hunt Club is hosting a trial this weekend.  We are looking for volunteers. Come have fun volunteering and learning what Barn Hunt is all about. Location is 542 Valleycrest Dr., Dayton, OH 45404. Building IS climate controlled!

Please remember this is a club sponsored event and we are responsible for the workers needed.   Those signing up to release dogs, need to be able to handle both big/small dogs please.    We depend on club members to fill the worker spots, this is an outdoor event, rain or shine.

Hello Gem City Members,

We are in need of more volunteers for the combined trial of Rat Rompers and Updog at the Gem City land on August 10th and 11th. These two dog sports offer lots of action and are fun to watch. The Rat Romper trial is held indoors in an air condition barn and the Updog is held outside. We will have cooling stations for dogs and people. Lunch is available for workers. Please contact Rachel Corbett <[email protected]> if you can volunteer.

We need participation or we may have to look to stop doing these events.  Worker time slots are first thing in the morning to run their dogs, otherwise, you will have to go for the times you sign up for.

The GCDOC Fast Cat event at K9 Splash Zone in Brookville is scheduled for August 16-18.   We will need workers and ESPECIALLY some younger members who are willing to release dogs for owners!!!!!

We will need people to man the back and front gates and inspection desk for morning and afternoon all three days.   Lunch will be provided by the club.

Please email   Ronalee at   [email protected] to reserve your special job today!!!!!   Please if you are younger and can help hold dogs, that would be great.   Please let Ronalee know of a preference of day and time!

It is that time again for CGC Evalulators and CGC Helpers to sign up to help the Advanced Beginner class with their CGC testing.  Please check the Volunteer Opportunities page to sign up.  You will earn double volunteer hours and this is an easy way to get them. Volunteers are needed for Cross Roads Canine Club (CCC) UKC obedience and
Rally Trials July 6 and 7, 2024 at 4920 Northcutt.

Workers will need to arrive by 8:00 AM.  The trial will last until about 3:00 PM.  A better time estimate will be available after entries close.

We are looking for a few volunteers for the Earthdog Trials on April 27 and 28. Some walking on uneven ground and standing is involved. Other than that, the work isn’t strenuous. No prior Earthdog experience is required. You will do a variety of tasks, such as opening and closing a gate, managing a line of competitors, being a helper for the judge, etc. You also don’t have to have a dog in Earthdog to volunteer for Earthdog. We might be finished each day before 6.

Saturday 9 to 1:30 need 3 volunteers
