Michele Johnson – 8/25/2021
Michele Johnson passed away last night. She was a long time member of the club. Over the last 5 or so years she has not been as active as she was battling cancer. Michele was a kind soul. She worked hard for the club and fir animal rescue. She and her husband Gary love their beagle and other hounds. She will be missed greatly.

Membership Meeting and “banquet” June 28
Save the date! We will be having our Banquet following our membership meeting June 28 at the land. Membership meeting to begin at 6:30. You will need to bring your own food, chairs, and whatever you need for a picnic style meal. The club will be providing drinks. (non-alcoholic) We will be doing awards, new furkids, and rainbow bridge. More information for contacts to come!

The passing of Gene Bashor
Gene Bashor was a founding member of Gem City Dog Obedience Club in 1967.
Per his wishes, he is having a private, family only  funeral service due to COVID.  Since we can’t attend the service, I am encouraging friends to send Marcia a little note that expresses sympathy and maybe share some fond memories of Gene.

Many thanks to all of the members who took the time to vote for the 2020/2021 Gem City Dog Obedience Club Board of Directors. 69 ballots submitted of 138 eligible voters for a participation rate of 50%.

Membership Meeting TONIGHT at 7:30pm
We will be holding a VIRTUAL Membership Meeting on Friday November 6th, 2020 at 7:30pm. The new GCDOC board members and directors will also be elected at this meeting. The slate of candidates is listed below. We will also be voting on 3 lifetime members: Nancy Beeman, Leah Schiller and Risa Wright.

In conjunction with the annual Zoom Meeting of the Gem City Dog Obedience Club Inc to be held on November 6, 2020, 7:30 pm, the election of the Board of Directors and Officers for Gem City Dog Obedience Club, Inc. to serve from 11/6/2020-11/5/2021 will take place this year using Election Buddy. Please vote for your selection no later than 11:45 pm on 11/6/2020. If you have any question, please send a message to the administrator. Membership Meeting Sept 30th
That’s right! We have a membership meeting on the calendar! And yes, we WILL be having it…
BUT…
It won’t be quite the same as previous September membership meetings. With social distancing and lots of members who fall into high risk categories, we are going to be responsible citizens, and have a VIRTUAL meeting.
Now…
I know that for some of you that those magic boxes with electricity that make sounds and emit lights are scary. Someone might see a VIDEO of the INSIDE of your home with your DOGS! We promise, we will provide a phone number to dial in instead of sharing your video.
but…
You might really enjoy seeing everyone else’s face without a mask on, and you might really like to see their dogs, too. And if that is the case, then certainly, jump on with your computer (that magic box previously mentioned).
