The Gem City Rat Rompers, GCDOC Barn Hunt Club is hosting a trial January 11-12. We are looking for volunteers. Come have fun volunteering and learning what Barn Hunt is all about. Location is 542 Valleycrest Dr., Dayton, OH 45404. Building IS climate controlled!
Every year we give the Eastwood boys their own personal Christmas cookie tin. Each boy will get about 15 homemade cookies in a tin and then a cookie plate for the staff. I am looking for a few more bakers to help me out.Pam Murn, Rosa Delk, Carol Poole have volunteered so far.

Lately there have been some pains being able to register for classes. This is greatly disturbing our customers, and as the only way to fix it would be to have servers like Amazon, and let’s face it, we aren’t Amazon, and can’t afford those servers!
As always, Agility registrations are done by mail, and that form is currently on the website and available to print out and mail in.
Please! Let any of your friends who don’t bother to read our emails or who aren’t members know! The fewer people we have hitting refresh trying to get in to a Barn Hunt or Rally class on Monday morning the easier it will be for our new customers!
Happy Holidays!!It’s that time year again Gem City Dog Club will be providing a little Christmas cheer for the Eastway Boys Group Home next to Gem City’s Dog Club Building on Northcutt. Each year we provide about 25 Games & Puzzles, so each boy has a gift to open. We also try to provide 1 or 2 large gifts that all the boys can enjoy throughout the year. We will be accepting donations made out to Gem City Dog Obedience Club. Last year we were able to purchase a Tablet & Xbox Gaming System with 2 Controllers and a gift card to purchase additional games. Below are Pictures of the tablet, xbox and some of the puzzles and games that were delivered to the boys for Christmas.

We still need a CGC Certified evalulator for Novemeber 18th at 8 pm and Novemeber 19th at 6:45 pm. If any certified evalulator are availabke to help the Advanced Begunner students, please email [email protected].

It is that time again for CGC Evalulators and CGC Helpers to sign up to help the Advanced Beginner class with their CGC testing. Please check the Volunteer Opportunities page to sign up. You will earn double volunteer hours and this is an easy way to get them. If you have any questions you can contact Rachel Corbett at [email protected].

The annual membershiop meeting will be held on Friday, November 1 at 7 pm. The meeting will be preceeded by a potluck carry in dinner starting at 6 pm. Bring your favorite dish to share with fellow club members. During the meeting members will elect board members for 2025. The candidates for each postion are listed below. Nominations from the floor will not be accepted at this meeting. A quorum is needed to hold the election. Please come and support the club!

If you have not paid your dues yet you must pay them by 10/31/2024. You can pay on the GCDOC website using PayPal or send me a check made payable to GCDOC at 4921 Pacemont Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45415. If you have not paid your dues, you will not be able to vote in the November elections for the board. See below on how to access your volunteer hours and 2025 Dues amount.

The website has now been updated with the total hours and dues for this year.
Once you are logged in to the website, please click on the button that says “Profile/Password change” on the members page, or select it from the menu drop down. Your volunteer hours and what you owe will all be available from your profile page. Once you know what you owe, you can pay your dues from that members page by clicking the appropriate button just below your totals.
**Please note, if you are a member who owes nothing, you STILL need to sign your waiver form. That button is also available in your profile area.
Dues need to be paid no later than October 31st.

Attention Gem City Members
GCDOC Earthdog is looking for a couple volunteers to be onsite during the trials. The trials usually start around 8 and end by 4 on Saturday and Sunday. If you can only be there a few hours that is fine. Hopefully we can get enough volunteers to hold the trial. If anyone is available to help please email [email protected] and let me know what day/s time/s works good for you.

Volunteers are needed for the Crossroads Canine Club UKC conformation and rally shows at Gem City on Saturday and Sunday, November 9th and
10th. Multiple ring stewards are needed all day, both days. Lunch will be provided for our volunteers! Thank you in advance for helping to make this trial a success!
