Volunteers needed for FAST CAT – 6/25 & 6/26

We could use a few more helpers with the FAST CAT tests at K9 Splash Zone on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend 06/25, 06/26, 06/27.  Hours are 07-12 and 12- around 4.  We need people to help release dogs (not for the faint of heart), check in dogs (for the most part a sit down job) and help in the catch pen.  Need to stay focused and be able to communicate with exhibitors.   If you are running, we can move your time to a worker slot and if you wish, you can run your dog first thing in the am.  Or, if you want to wait you can run in your slot.  This is a really fun event.  So we hope you can join us.

Volunteers Needed!!

Our musical freestyle team is looking for an awards chair and a raffle chair for the upcoming freestyle shows scheduled for July 24 & 25, then October 30 & 31. We’d love someone who would hang out on the committee long-term, but are happy with even just having someone for a little bit of time.

The awards chair would be in charge of accepting and organizing awards donations, possibly reaching out for awards donations (if you feel adventurous), making award sheets for the judge and score keeper, submitting a list of awards with their donor to our catalog chair, and tracking award recipients for submission to WCFO. We love and encourage creativity, and would love if our awards chair could make award certificates, but this is not a requirement.

The raffle chair does not need to he present for the entire show, but it is a lot of work leading up to the shows and we would love for you to come be a part of our sport. The raffle chair is someone who accepts and organizes our raffle baskets. We would really like someone who is proficient with Excel/Google Spreadsheets, as our raffle will he done electronically. We would love for you to be present at the shows, as well, to accept money and organize the electronic submission of raffles.

Both of these positions can have as much support as you like/need from the trial chairs and the rest of the trial committee.

Please reach out to Ashley Huehn at [email protected] and/or Jessa Kenworthy at [email protected] if interested.

New Public Health Orders

Good evening everyone! We have been keeping updated on the most current health orders and I felt an update is definitely in order.

 Our policy has always been:

1. GECDOC follows CDC recommendations and state mandates.

2. If you feel ill, please don’t come to the class/event.

3. If you suspect that you have been exposed or that you have COVID-19, please let us know and we will discretely refund your money for trial fees or missed classes.

 4. GCDOC is not responsible for any illness you may have contracted while at our facility.

Our policy will remain the same.

The newest orders from Governor Mike DeWine state that anyone that has been fully vaccinated may now enter public places without face covering. Anyone has not been vaccinated must continue to wear a face covering until June 2. On June 2, all health orders are ending. This means after that date, everyone is free to enter without a mask or face covering. Until then, please follow the mask mandate accordingly.

Please see this link for the latest statement from the Governor. https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/resources/news-releases-news-you-can-use/covid-19-update-05-14-21-cdc

Please remember these are the state guidelines which we have followed since the beginning. I hope this email will clear up any confusion.

Thank you

Angela Profitt – President
