Hello, everyone!

Just a note to say that the link is OPEN again for the Gem City attire from Embellished Threadz! With the change of seasons, you might need something new – like a coat or jacket or sweatshirt! Click on the link and place your order – like last time, I’d be happy to pick up your orders and bring them to the club!

1. Our Membership year ends 9/30/21 and no Volunteer Hours for 2021 will be accepted after that date.

2. Dues are due and payable as of 10/31/21. After that date your dues will be considered lapsed.

3. Your total hours worked in 2021 and Dues amount will be listed on your profile page on the GCDOC.com website during the first week of October.  Log in as a member, go to the members area,  Access the Membership online directory and search for your name. When your account is displayed, click on your name and your profile page will come up.

4. You can either pay by PayPal or mail your dues to me.  If you pay by PayPal there is a red text button on the member’s page. You will sign the waiver in the process of paying. If you chose to send a check please go to the “Waiver Only” button and sign it there.  Mail the dues check to Tami Woodrow, 4921 Pacemont Ave, Dayton, Oh 45415 and make it payable to GCDOC.

DO NOT SEND ME AN EMAIL SAYING YOU PAID YOUR DUES OR SIGNED THE WAIVER. I GET AN AUTOMATIC EMAIL FROM THE WEBSITE FOR THAT.

Because of Covid the minimum 20 volunteer hour requirement per year has been waived by the board. Also the requirement to work 50 hours per year to retain the key to the building has been waived. Any member is eligible to retain their membership if they pay their dues.

The turf room is closed to all agility practice this week of September 20-26 . 

There has been some confusion about the municipality our building is in. I’d like to clear that up. We are actually located within the city of Dayton. The board did research our actual location before making the announcement. Unfortunately, we don’t have a choice. We will have to wear masks.

The City of Dayton just passed a mask mandate today. We will be requiring facial coverings for the meeting and classes as we are located within city limits.

1. At the next General Membership Meeting, on Monday September 20, 2021, at 7:30 PM, Diana Stromley, VP of GCDOC and Head of the Nominating Committee, will formally present the Slate of Candidates for the 2022 Board of Directors for GCDOC. The Nominating Committee (D. Stromley, P. Murn and C. Wright) selected the candidates they felt will best serve the club at this time. They are listed below.

YOU have an opportunity to put forth additional Candidates, if you feel someone else would be better in the position, to run in opposition to the Candidates presented by the Nominating Committee. Any nominees you choose must meet two requirements, according to our By-Laws: 1- the nominee must have attended two meetings during the past year (in-person or Zoom), and 2- they must consent to run for the position nominated. THIS IS THE ONLY OPPORTUNITY TO NOMINATE OTHER INDIVIDUALS. If you choose to nominate someone not present at the September meeting, please present a written acceptance, by the nominee, of their nomination.

• Voting for the 2022 Board positions will be done at the November 5,2021 7:30 PM General meeting. No nominations are accepted at this meeting. VOTE!

• YOU have the opportunity to become a Director of one of the three divisions which are appointed by the Board: Directors of Agility, Conformation and Obedience. If you are interested in one of these positions (duties are described in the Rules and Bylaws), as well as a vote on the Board, apply by delivering a letter of intent, along with your qualifications, to the Nominating Committee, PRIOR to the election in November. The Nominating Committee will verify qualifications and turn the applications over to the Board. The Board will make the appointments after the Election on November 5^th.
