UKC Conformation Volunteers!

Hey everyone! We need help! There’s only 2 weeks left until this show and we only have 3 volunteers. All hours count towards Gem City required hours for membership. There are no run around jobs. They are great jobs if you can’t get around as well as you used to. I will make sure you get something you can handle. Work half day or full day. You do not need experience. Just think, you could practically get all your hours in on one weekend if you promise to work the whole thing. The judges will tell you exactly what they would like you to do. They are always so patient.

Lunch will be provided. Michelle always makes sure everyone is fed. She does an amazing job! Plus, she makes the best desserts! We will make sure you’re done in time for fireworks and evening celebrations.

Remember, Crossroads Canine Club rents volunteers along with the building. Please sign up to help make this trial a success! Thank you!

Volunteering

We have many events coming up that need volunteers. Try to remember, trials/shows/tests are what keeps our club going. Our exhibitors love coming to show at our events!

Did you know that AKC featured our obedience and rally trials in their nationwide email? Pretty cool, right? So many new faces! Record entries! We were only missing workers! Our trial chair, Michelle, took very good care of anyone working. Nobody went home hungry!

Please go to the “volunteers needed “ page of our website. The CCC Conformation and Rally is coming up next month and we will need a lot of volunteers. Hours count towards GCDOC membership hours. I also saw Barnhunt. There’s hours available to help improve the restrooms, building maintenance , and many other things!Get those hours taken care of so you aren’t struggling to find something at the end of the membership year!

Don’t worry about not knowing anything about the sport we need volunteers for. The judges are always wonderful and willing to explain what they need. Our club members who are showing are always happy to take a minute to answer your questions. You may even find yourself falling in love with a new sport!

Land Email

Message from the president:

Hello folks. I am trying to get to the bottom to the email about the land being closed during certain times.

In the future, if you come across something like this, please email the board and me so we can appropriately approach a solution. While we realize having it posted yourself is the easiest way, it’s not the right way.

Board email: board@gcdoc.com

The entire board will receive your email.

My email: akp511@aol.com

I will receive this so I can present it to the board.

Once I find out more, I will attempt to answer your questions.

Thank you!

Angela

Scottie Meyer Award

I am so grateful to be awarded this special honor. I have so many great people around me. Thank you to everyone who believes in me, everyone who puts up with me, and to the great friends I’ve met over the years. New and old.

I would like to especially thank Jessa Kenworthy for helping me guide the club through the rough times last year. I never could have done it without her.

I will do my very best to uphold the reasons I was given this very special award.

Sincerely,

Angela Profitt

Change to Bylaws

The GCDOC board has voted to change the Bylaws Section 2 Dues. To change the Bylaws the Membership must also vote by secret ballot on the change presented by the board. Two-thirds of the membership present must vote “yes” to change the bylaws. We would like to change the word “sent” to each member to “make available” to each member and to change the days that a lapsed member can reapply to reinstate their membership from “90” to “30” days. Below is a copy of tje current Section 2 of the bylaws:

Section 2. DUES. GCDOC’s fiscal year is January 1 to December 31. The Membership year is November 1 to October 31. Membership dues shall be established by the board and shall not exceed $100 per year, payable to the Membership Chair on or before the last day of October. Dues for new members paid on or after July 1, shall carry over to the following year. No member may vote or hold office if that member’s dues are not paid for the current year. During the month of September, the Membership Chair shall send to each member a statement of dues for the ensuing year. After November 1 dues have lapsed, but members have a maximum of 90 days to reapply for membership. Such reapplying members must pay a reinstatement fee and dues as set forth in the Standing Rules.

Vouchers

To all the GCDOC members in this group! Last week I put your service vouchers in an accordion file in the Obedience cabinet. The file is next to the trays for the board and It is a light blue. The vouchers are alphabetized by your last name.

For board members, you have 5 Blue Ribbon vouchers (1 per session) in small sandwich bags in my Membership tray.

Cleaning committee, Land and turf maintenance also have Blue Ribbon and service vouchers in another large sandwich bag.

All service vouchers and Blue Ribbon vouchers have your last name on the back of the voucher.

Please pick up your vouchers as soon as possible.

November 11-12 Volunteers Still Needed!

We are 3 days away from the show and still need volunteers! Especially on Saturday! These shows/trials can NOT happen with only 3 volunteers! Also, Sunday has the very bare minimum. Please come help! Lunch is provided. You will get your required Gem City hours started! Work both days and you’ll almost have them all! If you are showing and would like to help, email me at akp511@aol.com and we will figure something out!

Help needed!!!

We still need volunteers for the CCC UKC Conformation Shows and Rally Trials this coming weekend! Crossroads rents workers along with the building! Please volunteer and get some hours out of the way for the year! This is a huge show that brings in good money. It can’t happen if we don’t get volunteers !https://gcdoc.com/volunteers-needed/?sheet_id=12
