Barn Hunt is a dog sport in which a course is built using hay bales. Live rats in aerated tubes, along with decoy tubes, are hidden on the course. The object is for the dog to use their senses to find the rats and indicate the rat to the handler.  The level of difficulty increase as the dogs progress due to increased course size, tunnel difficulty, and the number of rats the dog needs to find.

• For those that are brand new to the sport, we will first introduce the dog to the rats and see how he/she reacts.  From there we will work to build your dogs interest and drive to find the rat and work on other skills such as indication and tunneling.
•  For experienced barn hunters we will work on specific issues your team may be having.

Happy Ratters is an urban-themed canine scent detection and vermin-hunting sport where dogs use their natural instincts to search for live, safely enclosed rats hidden inside clean city-alley props like trash bags, boxes, barrels, and tunnels. This takes place in the Lenehan building and/or outdoors. No experience required.
